  • Professional guides: Our guides studied English and tourism at the National University of Cusco. They all grew up in this region and have a true passion for teaching others about their heritage. They are fun yet professional and will ensure you are safe and happy.
  • Permits: As soon as we receive your details and a deposit, we will purchase your permits (depending on availability). These permits are for a specific date and have your name printed on them. They cannot be changed once confirmed. You can only update your passport number. The permit includes the entrance to Machu Picchu.
  • Hotel: This trek includes one night in a hotel in Aguas Calientes, the city below Machu Picchu. We include a three-star hotel. Your booked hotel will appear on your confirmed bill. Updates are always possible.
  • Transportation: All of your transportation is included on this trek. You will be picked up directly from your hotel around 4am. (unless you are staying in Ollantaytambo) and taken to KM 104, to start your trek. The return train from Aguas Calientes is included. This is Expedition or Voyager class but can be upgraded to the Vistadome train for $75 per person. Once you arrive at the train station, you will be taken back to your hotel in Cusco. Your round-trip ticket from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu is also included.
  • Food: We will make sure that you enjoy an amazing meal on the way to Machu Picchu. Lunch will be served around the Wiñay Wayna ruins, and dinner will be at the best restaurant in the city of Aguas Calientes, called "Indio Feliz". Breakfast will be enjoyed at your hotel the next morning. Lunch on the last day is not included.
  • Water: We will give you a bottle of water for your morning walk and another bottle during lunch. We encourage you to bring more at your own expense, as staying well hydrated is the key to feeling great in the mountains.
  • First aid: each guide has received training in first aid by a specialist doctor. We hold mandatory training sessions every February (the month the Inca trail is closed), which every guide must attend. Your tour guide will always have a first aid kit for basic medical problems (traveler's diarrhea, cuts, scrapes, etc.) and oxygen. We'll get you out of the way as quickly and as quickly as possible, if necessary, and make sure you go straight to the clinic for treatment.
  • Satellite Phones: Our top priority will always be the safety of our customers and our team. While we are prepared and all of our guides are trained for most problems clients have on the mountain, being just a phone call away from a doctor, hospital, or friend helps everyone feel safe. The radios, which all of our guides have, are limited in how far they can go, so we've added satellite phones on every hike. Each guide will have a fully charged phone that can be used anywhere on the mountain to connect us anywhere in the world. And they can also be used by our customers for non-emergencies. While they are not cheap to use, they will be available at all times.
  • Rentals: Because there is no camping on this hike, the only possible necessities would be an additional porter, or walking sticks. Items are listed below:
  • Porter up to 7kg: $65
  • Canes (pair): $10
  • Porters: Because this is just a day hike, with no camping, no porters are used. Your daily package should include everything you need for the afternoon and the following day in Machu Picchu. It is your responsibility to carry that yourself. If you prefer to include a porter, it can be arranged and the rate will be according to the weight you carry. This must be arranged at the time of your booking as you will also need a permit
  • Wayna Picchu: Huayna Picchu is the mountain that is next to Machu Picchu. It is a 45 minute walk to the top, the path is steep but worth it as the view is stunning, we do not recommend it if you are afraid of heights. This is done after your visit to Machu Picchu. The cost is $75. Arrangements must be made at least one month in advance, due to its popularity. Please understand that the weather is out of our control.
